Does Insurance Cover Therapy in Austin?

What's covered, what's not, and how to figure out your real out-of-pocket cost.

Most major insurance plans in Texas do cover outpatient therapy — but coverage depends on your specific plan, your deductible, and whether your therapist is in-network. Here's how to check and what your options are.

In-network via Headway

Haven & Harbor is in-network through Headway for Aetna, Aetna Medicare, Ambetter, Ascension SmartHealth, BlueCross and BlueShield, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna and Evernorth, Humana Medicare, Oscar Health, UnitedHealthcare (UHC | UBH), and WellCare. Headway verifies your benefits before your first session so you know your copay upfront.

Out-of-network & superbills

If your plan isn't listed, many PPO plans reimburse a portion of out-of-network therapy. We provide monthly superbills you can submit for reimbursement.
